I just can't get over this video that Aunt Letha sent. It is of a crow taking care of a stray kitten over the course of 8 months. It is truly unbelievable. For those of you interested in looking at this, the link is on the left, under "The Kitten and the Crow".
I went to Sidney's, and now Garrett's, daycare today to register him for the infant class. I must say, that even though daycares are cheap when you compare them to someone charging an hourly rate, it is still a huge hit in the ole' wallet. Sidney and Garrett combined is really comparable to another mortgage payment. But what are you gonna do? I can't quit my job. I have my dream job. I will never, never find another company as wonderful as Travelocity to work for.
I got a good feeling in the infant room. The head teacher was really bubbly and talked about 100 miles per minute. The room was clean, the infants were happy, and no one was crying. Garrett is going to be the only boy in a room full of 6 girls. The odds of him getting a date are in his favor! Just kidding! I will probably break down into one huge bawling fit the first day I leave Garrett there. Even though he now seems huge to me, he is still an itty bitty guy. I think of the song "Itty Bitty" by Alan Jackson when I see Garrett. It is a really cute song. I will try to upload it for you all to hear.
We went and saw Sidney's teacher in the daycare too. She starts back on Monday. Her teacher, Ms. Toni, said that she would totally trust leaving her infant, if she had one, in the infant room. That made me feel even better. These 8 weeks have just flown by.
I went to the YMCA today and the Cardio Combo class totally kicked my butt. The Y is great. They have a daycare there. I put Sid and Garrett in there while I went to my 45 minute class. Garrett slept, and Sidney played with Spiderman action figures. She is so bored at home, that she now loves going anywhere. I have tried to entertain her these 8 weeks, e.g. McDonalds playground, the park, friends over, but I think she is ready to go back to Preschool.
I am ready to go back to work. I can quite honestly say, that staying at home with your kids is about 10 times harder than going to work. Really, I mean it. Even though you have stress at work, no one is crying. No one is fighting or throwing temper tantrums, and somewhere at work, there are donuts that you can quietly steal. You think Stay at Home Moms have it easy? No they do not. Trust me. They are NOT sitting on the couch eating bon bons. It is hard to find time to even eat these days. Which should either help my weight loss efforts, or slow my metabolism down to a crawl. I am betting the latter. I am glad to have someone help me teach my kids the abc's, numbers, how to draw, read, and eat properly. Without daycare, it is hard telling how Sidney might have turned out. Anyways, I have some video for you to peruse. I don't know why, but you have to push the play button twice before they will start playing. I love my kids soooo much!!
