Out of dogfood.

This week I ran out of dogfood. Ironically, I was on someone else's blog, and she asked the question, what do you feed a dog when you run out of dogfood? That got me thinking of all the things I have fed Mac and JR when we have run out of dogfood. When Craig is not traveling for work, the dogs NEVER run out. As for me, I am a big procrastinator and wait until the day of no more dogfood to get more. In the past, I have fed my dogs: peanut butter sandwiches, bread, peanut butter on a spoon, cooked hamburger, kraft cheese singles, velveeta, and lots of dogbones.

JR is the worlds pickiest eater. He absolutely hates dry dogfood, and will only eat it if he is on the verge of death. Mac is the world's messiest dog. He will INHALE his dogfood in less than 10 seconds, and get it all over the place. He drops it in his water bowl, and then it balloons up and becomes these little miniature sponges floating in his water. But JR, because he is weird, if Mac drops any dogfood out of his dish, Jr, will eat it off the floor. I have no idea why. It is kind of disgusting if you ask me.

We had a great day today. Garrett is finally a happy baby. For those of you without kids, this next section will be extremely boring to you.......

I had been playing around with giving him Similac Alimentum for about two weeks now. When he is on it, he seems very happy and content. But it is sooo expensive. I kept trying other formulas, because, if something else worked just as well, then I would not have to pay the double price of the Similac Alimentum. Well, every other formula has him screaming his little head off, which makes for a stressful day and a terrible night. With the Similac Alimentum, we have 4 hours stretches of sleep at night. With every other formula, the kidlet is up every 2 hours.

Yesterday, I was willing to pay ANY amount of money to make him happy again. Sooo, no more switching formulas on him. I must profusely thank my sister in law (Christy) for recommending this formula. Our household is much happier. If the baby ain't happy, ain't nobody going to sleep. I had tried the Enfamil Nutramigen, which is supposed to be the equivalent of the Similac Alimentum, but it turns out that the formulation is slightly different for the carbohydrate portion. Plus it really stinks, and Garrett would make this hideous face whenever he drank it. It was like mixing chalk with water. Garrett smiled a lot today, and made a lot of noise. He tries to say OOOHHHH, and he is getting pretty good at it. He wiggles around a lot. I have been trying to give him some tummy time, but after about 5 minutes, he starts screaming. The pediatrician told me to do it, but he definitely does not like it, at least yet. When Craig gets home tomorrow, I will have him fix the baby swing, and we will give that a whirl.

Sidney has this set of Princess high heels and tromped around in those all day. I am quite surprised at how good she is in walking in them. We went for a 1/2 mile stroll today, and she wore those high heels and walked the dog at the same time. She definitely knows what she wants to wear, and likes to pick out her own outfits. She is only 3 people........What am I in store for later on in life?

Mac is doing a lot better....
