I had mixed emotions about Obama until after listening to his speech last week. I really felt that I could relate to him. In the crowd, there were faces similar to me. The pictures of him and his mother and grandparents were truly moving. He and his wife had bucoos of student loans, and they have paid them off. This man knows what it is like to eat Ramen noodles for every meal while in college because you can't afford any fruit or protein. He is the type of guy that I could have over for dinner, and not worry about whether there was doghair on the table or not. I am no longer affiliated with any party. I really don't think that anyone I know of my generation is affiliated either. When Obama said he would bring the troops home from Iraq and end the war, I knew at that moment that he had my vote.
Quite honestly, when I look at McCain, I see a man with President Bush pasted on his face. He is another bush, but older. He thinks that middle class america is a household that makes around 500,000 per year. He has always had money. He doesn't know what it is like to stuggle. He has bocoo houses all over the place. I know he has Sarah Palin as his running mate, and I am extremely impressed with her. Now SHE is the one who should be running for president. If it were between her and Obama, then I think I would be tossing and turning for weeks. Palin is a hunter, was a commercial fisherman at one time, has 5 kids, of which her last one she had at 42, and her last child had down's syndrome, and is very pro life. I am pro life too, but I also think that pro life includes saving the lives of soldiers and bringing them home from this senseless mess we have going on overseas.
This is going to be an election that will make history.
Garrett is cruising!! He will walk around and around the coffee table, trying to get anything he can put his grubby little paws on. And he can get grubby....He is just so damn cute, that I have to hold him and rock him to sleep. He is my last baby. I am not having any more. I am enjoying my time with him. I went up into the attic and brought down some of Sidney's large toys that she had at his age, mainly a walker, and this push toy car that will aid in his walking skills.
For some reason, Sidney is worried about breaking. Craig told her that she would not break, and that he made her. She then asked "Did you use sticky tape?" I can't find it. I just thought that was hilarious and wanted to share. Her new thing to say is "YouBetcha", anytime you ask her a question, and the answer is Yes.
I am reading a new book called "The Shack". It is wonderful. The man in the book has all of the fears that I do, and confronts God and wants questions to them.
