Well, the secret is out. I told Mom I was working on a website for her to
sell her jewelry. I went to www.homestead.com. You can buy this thing called a
StoreFront. They accept paypal, credit, check, etc. They even generate traffic
to your site. But being that I am sort of a hack web page designer, it is harder than hell to set up. I am still trying to figure it out. But I am excited. Mom is excited. I hope she does expect this to look like www.heidijhale.com's webpage, as it will be very rudimentary, at first. Once I get the basics done, then I can elaborate on the design. Just waiting for the jewelry. I was thinking too of having a recipe website. While I have everything done for the cookbooks, I just have to print them out and give them to the rest of my family for Xmas, what if I had an actual website with our family recipes?? That would be sooo cool!
I just made this new recipe today, and I found it totally by accident. I have been following this diet called the Carbohydrate Addict's diet. Basically, in a nutshell, everything that is a carbohydrate or sugar should be avoided until the evening. So it was 2pm in the afternoon, and the only thing that I could find in the fridge that was not sugar or a carb was bacon bits. So I am eating handfuls of bacon bits, wishing they were chocolate chips, and I read this recipe on the back of the bacon bits for this broccoli salad. I just happened to have all of the ingredients, and it was good. Then I started thinking, I wish I had a website that i could put this on. I just don't want to have to pay money for a domain every month. Maybe I could use another blogspot to do this. Hmmm.
My son keeps grabbing my face and scratching it, but on accident. He is just trying to get my attention, or kiss me. I have this huge scratch down the side of my nose, from Xmas, that is more like a scar. I have two long scratches on my right cheek, and he managed to really snag my left cheek yesterday. I am going to look a monster by the time he is 2 if I can't keep my face away from him. Has anyone else had this problem?
One of Sidney's friends came over after gymnastics and played with us on Saturday, and then Saturday night, Sidney had her first official sleep over, at this friend's house. Without us. We really missed her, but I knew she was having fun. However, 4 year old girl drama is exhausting. When I picked her up, I just had to get the scoop on everything. I grilled her for a good 10 minutes.. What did you guys do? What did you guys eat? What toys did you play with? Were you good??? Did you guys play nicely together? Did anyone start a fight???? You get the picture. Sidney tells me everything. She does not miss one single detail. She is going to be a great gossiper someday!!!
I tinkered with the idea of getting her a cell phone, and having my number on speed dial, so all that she would have to hit is 2 + Talk, and poof, instant Mommy. Craig will be seed dial 3. Home will be speed dial 1. When it comes to technology, I don't really care what other people think, but my daugther WILL have a cell phone, in kindergarten, a Nintendo DS, and anything else that I can think of to buy her, with the new disposable income that I will have since I won't have to pay for her daycare any more. Sidney is really smart, and I want her to be able to reach me when she is away from me. I know that they can't talk on them, but if she is having an emergency, or my friend I have lined up for this fall forgets to pick her up, she is going to have the ability to call me.
This month, I have colored my hair brown with strawberry blonde/red highlights. It looks great, at least to me it does. It took folks awhile to recognize me. It is just something different. Being almost 38 has me going through this beauty crisis. If you have any beauty tips, please let me know what they are.
